I’m Daniel Trimarchi, a coach based in Montreal. If you’re here, you’re probably feeling one of two things: stuck, or ready for more clarity. This guide will help you decide whether coaching is the right next step — and what to do if it isn’t.

Your past: do you need therapy first?

Coaching is forward-focused. Therapy is often better for healing unresolved past pain.

Consider therapy first if:

  • the past still feels active in your day-to-day life
  • you feel overwhelmed when thinking about certain events
  • it’s affecting sleep, relationships, or basic functioning

If that’s you, therapy may be the right first step. Coaching can still be valuable later, once you feel steadier.

Your present: are you clear on where you are?

Most people aren’t lazy — they’re unclear.

Ask yourself:

  • am I where I want to be right now
  • what feels off: mindset, habits, relationships, health, direction
  • do I keep repeating the same loops

Coaching helps you see blind spots without judgment, and turn “something needs to change” into a clear starting point.

Your future: are you ready to move forward?

Coaching works best when you’re ready to:

  • break out of autopilot
  • stop overthinking and start acting
  • build clearer direction, even if it isn’t perfect yet

You don’t need a 10-year plan — you need the next right steps.

How coaching with me helps

Coaching is a structured space to think clearly and act intentionally.

You can expect:

  • deep, honest conversations
  • reflection prompts and structured homework (when useful)
  • guided exercises to shift perspective
  • clarity on what to change and how to follow through

The goal is simple: confusion → clarity → aligned action.

A simple exercise (optional)

Finish one sentence:

  • life is…
  • life is like…

Whatever comes up usually reveals how you’re viewing yourself, the world, and what feels possible.

Coaching readiness self-check

Check all that apply:

  • I feel stuck or unclear in the present
  • I want clearer direction for the future
  • I’m ready to look honestly at patterns without spiraling
  • I believe outside perspective would help
  • I’m ready to take action, even if it’s uncomfortable

If you checked 3 or more, coaching is likely a good fit.
